Doxee (Doxycycline) – Semisynthetic antibiotic tetracycline broad-spectrum. It has a bacteriostatic effect by inhibiting protein synthesis pathogens.
It is active against aerobic Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (Including strains producing penicillinase), Streptococcus spp. (Including Streptococcus pneumoniae), Bacillus anthracis, Listeria monocytogenes; anaerobic bacteria: Clostridium spp.
By doxycycline resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp., Serratia spp., Most strains of Bacteroides fragilis.
Dosing regimen of Doxee
Adult inside or / in (drip) administered 200 mg / day on the first day of treatment, the following days – 100-200 mg / day. Multiplicity of reception (or / infusion) – 1-2 times / day. Multiplicity of reception (or / infusion) – 1-2 times / day. The recommended minimum time / v infusion of 100 mg of doxycycline (infusion solution at a concentration of 0.5 mg / ml) was 1 hour.
Maximum dose: for adults for oral administration – 300 mg / day or 600 mg / day (depending on the pathogen etiology); for / in the introduction – 300 mg / day.
Side effect of Doxee

From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, dysphagia, glossitis, esophagitis, transient increase in blood levels of liver transaminases, alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin.
From hemopoiesis system: neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia.
Allergic reactions: skin rash, pruritus, eosinophilia, rarely – angioedema, photosensitivity.
Other: increased residual nitrogen, candidiasis, intestinal dysbiosis, discoloration of teeth in children.
